Goals galore

20th September 2015

Micky and Darren took lead in Newlands third week. The parents was not to be dissapointed as the Falcons started at blistering pace going 2-0 up in the first half. Goals from Tyler and Luke was enough to make the team feel comforrtable against Sney All stars. The joy was to be short lived though as Sneyd managed to pull two goals back to stun everyone as Newlands felt very comfortable. Just as the opposition was still celebrating Dylan broke through the defence on the restart with a very powerful run, he then managed to lift the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper. Sneyd did not have time to reply as the referree blew for full time straight from the restart,

The second game was much more comfortable for Newlands as they ran out 3-0 winners with another goal from Tyler, a free kick beautifully placed into the top corner and then rounded off by a thumping drive from outside the area by Brandon. A fantastic result. The man of the day Luke showed throughout his desire to drive forwards with mazey runs. He also showed that he can defend when he needs to aswell,

SECOND WEEK AND ANOTHER TWO GREAT RESULTS

After a fantastice start to the season expectations were high. The boys have shown though that as a team they have real character. The first match was against Sneyd All Stars who started the game very brightly. The deadlock was broken though by Tyler who went through on goal only to be taken down inside the penalty box before he could get a strike at goal. Tyler stepped up and cooly despatched from the spot. The game was followed up by a strike from Dhillon and then a very precise finnish from Braydan. There was time for a reply but a very good result of 3-1.

The second game was a re-run of the first week with Stonnall Juniors who had welcomed back a couple of really strong players. Stonnall started the stronger but after a quick change of playing formation Newlands started to pile on the pressure. The goal keeper for Stonnall was in fine form making several outstanding saves. Newlands did eventually gain the lead through Tyler. After a number of chances for Newlands they were eventually left to rue some fantastic saves as Stonall scored from a free kick outside the penalty box late on.

The man of the day was very easy to pick out in the middle of the park. William did not miss a challenge all day and whilst breaking up play continuosly played probing balls to maintain the pressure n the opposition. Well done Will.
